Willapa Harbor Hospital Welcomes Dr. Karime Bolivar

Willapa Harbor Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. Karime Bolivar will be joining our medical staff in late September 2026, providing care in both Willapa Medical Clinic and Willapa Harbor Hospital.

Dr. Bolivar will graduate in June from the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency in Seattle, where she currently serves as an Executive Resident. In this leadership role, she has coordinated resident education and scheduling across multiple hospital systems and clinics, while also supporting recruitment and program development. Her work reflects a strong commitment to collaboration, organization, and high-quality patient care.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas, with minors in Biology and French. Dr. Bolivar is board-eligible in Family Medicine and holds multiple certifications, including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP). She is also bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish with native fluency.

Throughout her training, Dr. Bolivar has demonstrated a passion for serving underserved populations and improving access to care. She has held numerous leadership roles focused on health equity, cultural awareness, and community outreach, including developing a medical Spanish interpreting certification program for future physicians. Her academic contributions include research and publications on clinical documentation and evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Bolivar shared that she was intentionally seeking a smaller, community-oriented environment and values close-knit communities where physicians can truly become part of the fabric of the area they serve, making North Pacific County a perfect fit.

Originally from Maracay, Venezuela, she has spent much of her life in Arkansas and is now excited to call Washington home. Having previously traveled along the Washington coast, she and her husband are looking forward to exploring the region further. In her free time, Dr. Bolivar enjoys walks with her yorkie, a good cup of tea and a romance/science fiction novel and catching up with her family.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Bolivar to our team,” said Matt Kempton, CEO. “Her passion for community-based care and dedication to improving access to healthcare will be a tremendous asset to our patients and community.” Please join us in welcoming Dr. Bolivar to Willapa Harbor Hospital this fall.
